Don't ya just love this photo with Dr. King and Bayard Rustin? Who's Bayard Rustin? He organized the March on Washington, gave Dr. King lessons on Non Violence Resistance tactics. Mr. Rustin had been protesting and using these tactics throughout the South for over a decade by the time Dr. King and he met.

Mr. Rustin was honest and open with his homosexuality which caused concern and in some cases rifts in the movement as Activist worried if it would be used to discredit the cause along with their own prejudices and homophobia. Rustin took a step back in order to keep the movement from damage. Rustin made Nixon's Enemies list! Whoo Whoo! Up into the 1980's he branched out from Civil and Human rights causes to Gay and Lesbian causes. He should be remembered for his great work.

What happened to wood shop? Autoshop? Metalshop? I made a cutting board, and I was real proud whenever my Mom used it. I learned to fix the wiring in a lamp! Of course, this helped me as a writer. Not! But it helped me as a Man.

It helped me as a teenager, and I now as a pre-geezer, (age 42) I listen to all these political hacks constantly promote nothing except Math and Science to complete with the Chinese Students who live in China.

Question? What if you aren't good at Math and Science? Is it fair that education is now geared only to Math and Science and not towards wood shop, auto shop, electrical shop, Music and Art Education?

But we have to compete with those Indian/Chinese kids who study year round? You mean those kids that come over here to learn from our professors while sitting next to Johnny and Jill Appleseed?

Come on you know that's bulls*it!

Their education is not better than ours, it's geared in one direction though. It may work for their country but I'm sure that there are educators who have looked into the long term health of the China's Educational system that do not support Math and Science solely being the focus.

So, what's really going on? Well, the death of American Manufacturing for one? We ain't making nothing and if we are we want it cheap!

Americans want to be able to make a decent living from their work. They want to get paid. No one wants to work in a sweat shop for sweat shop pay but that's exactly what certain segments of the American Private Sector seemed to be gearing us for. But I digress!

Here we are battling Real Education versus Volk Education in a very real way. Real Education means that you study everything indeptly with the intent on running things. This has been set aside for the children of the financial elite. And then there's Volk (Citizen or People) Education. That's public education with an emphasis on making good Citizens or State Soldiers. That's right! They want you to be clones, drones, automatons. Yeah, I said it! And it's true.

Public School Education is geared to get the working class kids to do what? March in lockstep. Don't believe me? Look at any elementary school in the inner city. Kids come through one gate, show id to a guard, wear a uniform and may have recess on a fenced in playground. Surprise they going to prison? You shouldn't be. They've been trained for it. Go to Prison cause there are not real viable economic opportunities available and build that General Electric Washing Machine in a Private Prison Workshop for 18 cents a day that they sell to you for $800.00 while they lay off thousands of machinists while crying poor.

Am I lying? Have I told ya wrong? No and ya know it but is you mad enough to do something about it?
First thing. Do NOT Vote Republican under any circumstances. Support President Obama and Kick out any Democrats that don't support a PROGRESSIVE AGENDA.

Go to the local Education Boards and start demanding a REAL EDUCATION and REMOVING THE Apparatus that creates Citizen Soldiers Education.

Republican Stalwart Newt Gingrich is throwing out his Racist code word vitriol again mentioning Black People and Welfare to us as if it's an issue that we care about.

Fact: Black People are 13 % of the American Population.

That means the majority of people on welfare are WHITE People! Talk to them about taking away their welfare. Talk to White People about removing any social welfare programs, and about why the Republicans have do not want to extend unemployment benefits.

Fact: In 1996, a massive welfare reform bill was passed by Newt and the 100 congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton. The law limited how long a person can stay on welfare and then they had to go to work. It even had a jobs program. Problem with jobs programs is that they are low wage jobs that you can't pay rent, health care, or childcare with.

Where are the jobs? I don't see the Republicans introducing any legislation to penalize corporations that have sent jobs overseas and continue to do so.

Black People are not the Problem with America Newt and various Republican White Folks. The Problem with America is YOU and those who think like you.

The Occupy Movement seems like a good idea on paper, after all, look at what the Tea Party Express has been able to do but if you look at the Occupy Movement critically you see it's nothing more than a cargo loaded Fart!

The Occupy movement stated WE ARE THE 99% but have not outlined ANY Specific Demand or thing that they would like to achieve. Do you want banks to stop foreclosing on homes, jobs, lower tuition?? What????

So, they set up Tent cities to protest and yell about what??? What are your goals or demands? You risk arrest for what??

Oh, that's right! They haven't risked any arrests. Has anyone gone inside good ole B of A and just sat down impeding B of A's right to do business?

I'll wait! Has the Occupy Movement shut down any of the Property Brokers who use B of A or any other bank to foreclose on home owners? I'll wait!

Has the Occupy Movement blocked up Check Cashing Businesses while Blocking the Banks Business? You know protesting Chek Systems or just leaving the banks.

What about the masses of people who joined a credit union and left the banks?

How bout going to the Chamber of Commerce in one's local and protesting the amount of Liquor stores, checking cashing, tobacco shops and Medical Marijuana dispensaries and fast food places that are allowed to open in a small concentrated area where the people are mostly Black and Poor?

In the 50's and 60's a sit in meant you were gonna get arrested. It meant that you could be beaten, jailed or worse. It meant that local police, state agencies and Federal groups could target you. There was a risk to being involved. So far, with no clear demands, no specific goals, you can not achieve even incremental change!

Apple Founder Steve Jobs Passes!

Steve Jobs has passed after a long battle with cancer. I am saddened. I had just purchased another IPOD. I loved watching the battle between Apple computers and Microsoft. Bill Gates may have won the war of attrition by flooding the market with PC'S and his windows operating system but Steve Jobs made sure that the personal computer was ICON based. Even the PC is now ICON based.

If you want to do graphics, or music the MAC is just the standard of excellence. But to me Apple's and Steve Jobs greatest achievements are PIXAR, where he helped revolutionize cartoons and the ITUNES/IPOD system that blew the doors off the music business after Napster.

The Music business railed against file sharing, stating that no one would buy music online when they could get it for free. Jobs created a system that sold singles for 99 cents and allowed you to store it and use a player that was fun but most of all easy to use. Record companies are making money again off the itunes network and best of all I can load up my own music and pick songs I like not just the whole wack album.

Thanks Steve! Glad you are not suffering anymore.

Troy Davis set to die!

I've written on Troy Davis before so I won't rehash what's already written; Instead I would like to take the time to say that I do not believe that he should be put to death. There are too many things that should have been addressed years ago that have not been. There is NO Physical evidence linking Troy Davis to the murder of that poor Security guard. Seven of Nine eyewitnesses who testified that TROY DAVIS MURDERED that poor SECURITY OFFICER have RECANTED their testimony some advising they were pressured and coerced. That in, and of, itself, should be enough to demand more evidence but alas The State of GA and all the appeals say TROY DAVIS received a fair trail. There is nothing to reverse the findings and conclusion of that trail. His attorney didn't suck, he had a most White Jury of his peers etc. Innocence has NOTHING to do with if the COURT should reverse the decision. I am paraphrasing it but last year the appeals court REALLY said just that.

You should be chilled to your very bones over that.

There will be some who say that the victim Martin Macphill, Off-duty POLICE OFFICER Martin Macphill, needs justice. They will get no argument from me on that. One thing though. Officer Macphill was working as a SECURITY OFFICER that night and I am almost positive he didn't have time to identify himself or his DAY Job to his Murderer so it should have no bearing on the weight of justice. America loves to proclaim it's LAW ENFORCEMENT Officials deaths as higher, more heinous, and deserving of more investigation than the rest of it's citizens. Would America and the State of Georgia be this hot for Troy Davis if Martin Macphill HAD been just a SECURITY GUARD working at the 7-11? You know they wouldn't be.

This has allowed folks to turn a blind eye to what we should all see clearly. If JUSTICE is truly BEING served. Poor Martin Macphill's Mama wants someone to pay for her sons murder. She has every right to want that! But Mrs. Macphill can not have that at the expense of JUSTICE and FAIRNESS! Those standards, our standards have not been met. Evidence and Reasonable Doubt state that TROY DAVIS is not the MURDERER of her son. God Bless her! She will have neither PEACE NOR CLOSURE from this.

More so there is no room for oops! None! No do over! No Replay! TROY DAVIS needs JUSTICE! Marty Macphill needs the Man or Men who really murdered him brought to justice. God Help Us if we just watch the State of Georgia or any state execute someone who most likely is INNOCENT!

President Obama Challenges Congress on Jobs!

Much has been made about the lack of Job creation since America took a massive dump over the past five years. It's the Presidents Fault! He won't give Big Business yet ANOTHER tax break! Yada yada yada!
Well, I still think that President Obama is being a P*ssy much too often when dealing with the Republicans, Turn Coat Democrats and the So called Tea Party. Good for him on coming up with some good ideas and dropping them in Congresses Lap!

In times of Emergency I believe it is the President's duty to create jobs. President Franklin Roosevelt set the precedent during the First Great Depression but Obama is trying his best not to give in to any Socialist Democratic/Big Gov ideas so this has not happened on his watch during the Second Great Depression but it should.

Jobs! President Obama and Congress you can not continue to give corporations tax breaks when they are laying off workers and shifting the burden of their support onto the States while they amass record profits and ship jobs overseas!

Mr. President Sir, If you did create another FDR style worker program, this time it would be Big Businesses fault because they could hire back their workforces and retrain them in things they need. Big Business could avert you creating another FDR workers program. They could avert you outbidding them on jobs and taking thier profits. They could avert all of this but it's up to you, the President, to put the pressure on them to do their part! Take their tax breaks! Go after the tax shelters! Make it hard for them. Go after their wealth individually! See no one is doing that or threatening to do that!

I met with an old running buddy yesterday who I had not seen in years. She looked good and attributed her newly toned physique to exercise and diet. She shared her Christian Faith with me, which was a change because last we met she was a Taoist. Also,during our catch up session, she asked me had I seen the "Obama Deception" video she'd shared on my Facebook page. She posted this video because she loves to tweek folks who she believed dig President Obama. I let her know I had seen it. It did not move me.

President Obama has been called everything except Mr. President or a Child of God (IAM). I also shared that I didn't trust outright "Anything" White Folks said. I check out and examine it all because of all the past things that have happened to Black People. I said this with full knowledge that she is in a commited relationship with a White Dude. (I don't care, as long as they are happy Cool!) My feelings on Race Relations go far beyond petty matters like Interracial dating.

It was an amazing bit of conversation because I shared with her that I too am a Christian.
I believe in God (IAM) and had accepted Yeshua (Jesus) as my Savior many years ago. Her response to me was "That's surprising! I never thought of you as a Christian in the least." WOW! I let her know I was slightly offended by that statement. But it got to thinking.

I am Christian. I do not accept all the doctrines or dogmas of the Church. I believe the Bible has been tampered with. I believe that the Bible has been used for evil purposes to hurt my People. I do not take the Bible at face value. I do not lend my trust to Churches and their dogmas. Pastor Charles Stanley, Ralph Reed and the Falwell ilk do not represent me or the Faith I believe in. That said, let's talk about Faith.

What is Faith? The Book of Hebrews Chapter 11 Verse 1 says that Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things HOPED for the EVIDENCE not SEEN. I believe in Yeshua (Jesus) although I have not literally SEEN him. I have seen his reflection in the people that I have met though. I have seen his works in the lives of the People around including my old running buddy. With that I believe.

Now, as far as my running buddies assessment of ME as a Christian when last she knew me. I say this. When we knew each other last, I drank, I smoked, I used foul language, I lusted after Women. Years later, I mediate, I pray, I do yoga. I still drink although not often. I still smoke although not often. I curse. I am a Married Father of one. I still lust after Women. (sometimes) What does that make me? A Man! Imperfect unapologetically Man!

While there has been some growth and some changes I am still the same Man with the same sins. I'm just not ruled by them! I am not a slave to them. I am not condemned because of them. I am saved because of my Faith! I am more than a conqueror through him that loved me. (Yeshua, Christ Jesus)

I am a Christian because I accept Christ as my Savior. Am I perfect? Nah, just forgiven. Am I blind or brainwashed because I am a Christian? Nah! God (IAM) has never asked for Blind Faith. He asked me to trust him and he would prove himself to me in his works and in my Life and he's done that over and over again. I read my Bible, I have read the Quran and the Gita as well. I have tested them to see what's what! I Believe. Can I prove it! No! That's Faith. That allows change.

Still don't think I'm a Christian? Cool, luckily my membership card is not approved by YOU! (WINK)

Philadelphia Eagle Quaterback, Last season's MVP Candidate and Comeback Player of the Year Michael Vick has signed a $100 Million dollar contract for the second time in history after being convicted of fiancing and participating in a Dog Fighting Ring. He served two years in Federal Prison, forfieted millions of dollars, served probation and re-entered the league on a minimum contract to achieve greatness.

Good for you Mike! Good for You! If you gon get Exploited for your talent Mike that's the way you do it! Hell, Mike, we all know you only there cause they can make serious Money because of you and your talent. They ain't letting you play or giving you all that Damn Money for nothing! Way to get Exploited handsomely!

Matrise, a Master's degree candidate, a 24 year old Young Woman, was arrested and was released on FOOT after midnight into a wooded area without her purse, vehicle or phone. She was never seen alive again. The Sheriff's have yet to explain anything plausible concerning her death.

The County of Los Angeles paid $900, 000 dollars of TAX Payer money to her parents but this TAX payer wants JUSTICE! This TAX Payer wants an Explanation and this TAX Payer wants arrests to be made, those responsible released from thier duties as Officers and procedures implemented to make sure that it never occurs again. JUSTICE! Where is the PEOPLE'S Consistently Sustained OUTRAGE over that?!!!! But you cry foul over Mike Vick and some Damn Dog? DOGS?

It's a Damn Shame that there are those who care for about some Damn DOGS than they do for Justice for a HUMAN BEING!

Obama Should Hire America! End Tax Breaks for Big Business!

Obama has not created one job!
The Government should be concentrating on job creation!
America is unfriendly to Business with all the regulation.
With De Regulation Businesses can grow and create jobs!
Businesses need lower taxes in order to create jobs and compete.
The Government needs to create a Business Friendly enviorment!

Is it a Governments role to create jobs?

I, personally would not mind if President Obama created a FDR style workers program for the unemployed labor of this country. I believe that it would be a great boon to the country. The country's infrastructure is falling apart and we have more than enough labor and more than enough need. America would benefit for the next 75 years if we upgraded and repaired our highways, levies and bridges alone.

But wouldn't that create a deficit for the country Mista Jaycee?

No, it would not be a deficit for the country. America would see an immediate return on it's investment with a labor force that is building up it's own infrastructure, (2) A labor force that is being trained in various skills, (3) A labor force that spends it's income on products that it needs boosting the country's economy. (4) There would be possible reductions in crime, (5) no unemployment, (6) Skilled labor that could go into private sector work, the country could tailor job and skill training in areas it needs and the private sector could take it over and service the country.

I believe leaving America's labor unemployed taxes the health care system, and state and local governments without any of the benefits listed above.

But is it the Governments role to create jobs?

In a state of Emergency it is the Government's role and duty to create jobs, just like it is the Government's job to tax and police it borders. We are in a state of Emergency now. The country's unemployment rate is at 11%.

Well if the Government gave Businesses tax breaks and didn't burden the Business community with so much red tape and regulations then businesses could hire.

That's simply not true!

Why Mista Jaycee? Why is that not true?

The Government has given many Corporations tax breaks and subsidies for decades now. The Business community has taken that savings and placed the earnings in off shore accounts, they closed factories, they've laid off workers. They've moved factories overseas for years irregardless of Democratic or Republican Administrations. They reneged on Pension and health care obligations they agreed to pay their employees, shifting the burdens to the States. Think about it. How many factories were built under Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama? That's Five Republican administrations to Three in over a thirty year period.

When GM Motors began to use robotic/mechanized assembly how many workers were put out of a job? When the Shipyards mechanized, how many dock workers, longshoremen and stevedores were let go? When the shipping industry was required to build double bottomed ships for eco protection, how many ships were built in America? Where is our steel industry? How many machinists, tool and dye makers, mechanics and electrical technicians are out of work or find themselves unable to find work that pays what their predecessors made?

Well, it was technological advances that made that occur Mista Jaycee.

Partially true, but it was big businesses failure to train and re-hire it's labor force.

Why Mista Jaycee?

Business had no problem implementing the new technology to create it's product faster and cheaper. Business also demanded a tax break from the Fed, and more of the same from State and local govs. Big Businesses pays far less than smaller business on water and sewage. It pays far less in taxes benefiting local governments. Why should the Government give Business anymore tax breaks? Why should Local, State and Federal branches keep the taxes low for Big Business? Business has not reinvested in America. If the factories are off-shore then America does not benefit. If the labor can not work and buy a home on their salary or educate their children then what benefits does America get from allowing business to have these perks. China and Mexico have cheap labor forces but that only benefits Business not America.

The Government in my opinion should eliminate tax breaks with big business and create it's own labor force, hiring big businesses best and brightest until big business gets the message that They need to give back to the country not just take.

But hell what do I know. Chime in!

Anne Hathaway as Cat Woman????!!!!

Ahhhhhh, Comic book movies! Don't ya just love em? I love Comic Books, always have but I have not always liked comic book movies. When it's done right a comic book character can been given much depth. The Electra character in the Daredevil comic is a well written, well rounded Frank Miller creation but the movie....

Well at least, Electra the movie, had Jennifer Garner but on the minus side Daredevil the movie had Ben Affleck.

The problem with Comic Book movies is as Ben Affleck stated in "Chasing Amy" It does not appeal to it's true core audience. "Over or Under Weight Guys that can't get laid they're our bread and butter!"

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman! I like Anne Hathaway! Saw her in the Devil wears Prada! Loved that! Problem is that I have never found Anne to be sexxxy! Cute, attractive, but not sexxxy! Cat Woman is a Sexxxy character. Anne Hathaway does not inspire Sexxxy!

But Jaycee, the writers wanted a more balanced Cat Woman. Anne Hathaway is a thespian and she could bring things to the character that have not been explored before with her talent and range beyond what has been put to film previously. Hummmmm, something to think about......Bull Sh*t!

Halle Berry is an Oscar Winning Actress who is easily is in the top two of the sexxxiest Cat Women ever and it takes a SCRIPT to bring greatness to the screen which Halle did not have but also YOU have to fit the role. Anne Hathaway does not fit the role. Michelle Pfippher was hella sexxxy as the Cat Woman and she too can act! Sexxxy and can act! Sexxxy and can act! Did I mention Sexxxy! And the purrrr belongs to the Late Miss Eartha Kitt.

Now let's be fair to Anne Hathaway, let's look at the previous group of Cat Women. Halle Berry, Sexy and can act. Michelle Pfippher, sexy and can act. Has President Obama failed Black People or the American People as a whole? I would say neither. President Obama certainly has not done enough to help Black People but he has not failed us either.

Michelle Bachmann is WHITE! Michelle Bachmann is in fact, so WHITE, that she can state things like "Obama has failed Black People!" without stuttering as if the REPUBLICAN Party has NOT failed Black People.

She can say this as if the Tea Party, The Republican Party and the so called Right Wing has done anything to help bolster the health and overall benefit of the Black Community. Has the Republicans created any jobs in the Black Community, sponsored any Job Training or Educational Learning opportunities that have helped Black People grow and excel in the last Twenty Years?

I'll Wait.......

Have they talked with Accepted Black Leadership? When has Michelle Bachmann, for example, visited the board of the Urban League, 100 Black Men, The National Negro Women's Council, NAACP, Rainbow/Push, the National Black Chamber of Commerce or any Black Church that was not headed by the likes of a Republican Friendly Black Pastor? You know someone that is accepted and admired by the Black Community in let's just say several Northern States?

When has the Tea Party, Right Wing, Republican Establishment addressed the problems that Black People are concerned with? Black Folks across the Nation lead in Unemployment. We are above 10 percent! Where are the jobs that will lead us to home ownership, being able to pay for our children's education and buy those cars, golf club memberships that so many other races seemed to enjoy? All I see is low wage jobs that pollute Black Neighborhoods poisoning the people and making the property values go down.

I'll wait....

The Right Wing is big on Law Enforcement! Last, I checked a large part of the Black Community agrees that while Police are necessary they are neither Friendly or Friends of the Black Community. Police Brutality is a very real thing in the Black Community what has the Right Wing shown Black People that they are doing to take the Lead and change this? Well, I would say they've made it even easier for Law Enforcement to continue doing it and NOT get prosecuted for it.

Counter to this....hummmmmm??? I'll wait for your responses.

Black People were caught up in the Housing Crisis with so called Predator Loans. What has the Right Wing done to make sure that Black People could own a home, without being taken advantaged of my Predator Loan sharks and Banks? Hummmm????

What about Health issues? AIDS is running rampant in the Black Community, what has the Right Wing done to help Health Officials stem the problem? Where is the leadership? Hummmmmm

What about Education? Public Schools suck, but especially in the Black Community. Have they built better, more modern schoools? Is the Right Wing leading in innovative ideas like Software Shop? You know like Auto and Woodshop used to be? What about jobs that teach kids how to build America's infrastructure? Like how to repair a Bridge? Get rid of Mold in a home? Build a new Power Grid? Hummmmm

So, clearly the Right Wing has done little or NOTHING to address any of these concerns and I just narrowed it down to the past 20 years. That's enough for Reagan, Bush Sr, Bush Jr. That's the right Wing holding the House in the 90's under Presidential Candidate Newt Gringich. Come on!

So, let's get real. President Obama inherited a HUGE Deficit! He Inherited a Huge Job drain. HUGE! Tons of Corporations have left America under Republicans. They moved their operations and their taxes off shore in spite of huge tax breaks given to them here. They've laid off more than enough workers and only re-hired when they could lower the Workers wages.

Union Busting anyone? Obama has not done all he SHOULD Have done for Black People but let me BE the First to say that compared to the SO called RIGHT WING. He's still BETTER!

I was working for a Leading Roadside corporation and had to attend a seminar called "Who moved my Cheese", Have you heard of it?

"Who moved my Cheese?" Is a self help tome about adapting to sudden and sometimes extreme change in Life and specifically in the workplace. Now, if I had grabbed the book in Borders or Barnes and Noble I could have used the book for the good it was intended but I quickly learned it was my company's lame way of letting me and others know that we were about to get Eff'd!

We were told we needed to adapt to sudden change. We would NOT be getting raises, we would BE expected to do more work for the SAME or LESS money and do it well. The Claims department was downsizing a large portion of it's staff, and now we would have to learn to file claims. Well, at least the grunt work of it. The New Membership staff had been ELIMINATED so WE had to now process the new members all while still taking calls from disabled motorists, dispatching calls to local towing and emergency agencies.

Would we get a slight pay bump for learning new skills? Hell NO! We'd get to KEEP our jobs and make the SAME money. "Who moved my Cheese?" Would help us adapt and accept the changes that were happening in our lives.

1. Are you making more money than five years ago or less? Sub Question. Are you employed?

2. How many people have gotten laid off, downsized, rightsized or fired in the last five years?

3. Can you buy a home, car, pay tuition and save with your salary?

4. If you have a post graduate degree has it helped you or hurt you in today's job market?

Ask yourself these questions.

My Mom got a job right out of high school and could work that job til she retired, buying a house, a couple of new cars and support the Family. Can you or I?

Can you buy a house off your salary now? Will you work your job for more than five years?
Can you accrue sick time? What are your benefits like? Do you have any benefits?

See the pattern here? You and I are making less, working multiple jobs in two to five year increments, without any of the benefits that our PARENTS had. Some of us are working now without the benefits that are older Brothers and Sisters had.

This is the enviorment that we are living in and trying to talk politics. It infects everything. Now, listen carefully to the NFL and NBA lockouts cause you are going to hear what's affecting YOU now.

In the NFL the owners want the Players to play an 18 game schedule instead of a 16 game schedule including Pre season games, and camp. So you want me to work more without more money and risk even more injury in a dangerous profession? The NFL is a Multi BILLION dollar industry and BILLIONAIRE OWNERS want Labor to do MORE and take less. Remember, not all these players make a million dollars a year and incur injuries that require lifetime medical treatment. Same with the NBA alot of the LABOR does not make Multi million dollars, just a few do. KOBE does, LEBRON does and now what the Owners want is to cap the cost of a RASHARD LEWIS who made 19 Million last year but DID nothing basketball wise, the GREG ODEN's who signed a 100 Million dollar deal but has played on about 49 games in three seasons. Most players make far less. It's about the owners PROFIT margin.

Now, I know it seems like your salary and labor struggle are light years apart from a MILLIONAIRE ATHLETE but it's really NOT! The amount of salary separates you but that's all the STRUGGLE IS the same. Greedy owners or shareholders want an even larger piece of an already profitable pie and want LABOR to take less, work harder and longer without any additional benefits.

We can't go on like this.

Numbah 1. A Female will never BE a FATHER! You will never understand what it is to BE a FATHER of a Child. It is a BIOLOGICAL REQUIREMENT! I know some of y'all don't wanna hear that but it IS.

Numbah 2. Absence of a Child's Father does not mean that the child does NOT have one. It means that the Father is an absentee for whatever reason.

Numbah 3. Lack of a Man or the Father of your Children does NOT make YOU the FATHER! Can you teach a BOY how to BE a Man? NO! You can't teach a Boy to shave, pee standing up by example, or any of the 1 million unspoken things that need to be taught by emulation. Ladies, believe it or not there are things that a FATHER has to TEACH a DAUGHTER as well as a Son.

What Mista Jaycee?? That's right Ladies There are things that a FATHER Must Teach his GIRL CHID/DAUGHTER that a MAMA/WOMAN Can't teach her. Which is one of the reasons dumb posts like Happy Female Father's Day ever get uttered.

Numbah 4. Happy Female Father's Day feeds into the attempt to REMOVE and REPLACE the MAN! Believe it or not there are Sistah's who think they can raise a fully COMPLETE Child without a Father. It's bullshit! Sistahs know too many Men and Women who are incomplete and broken inside because they lacked the presence of their FATHERS.

Last point!

Numbah 5. A Man CAN NOT Replace a WOMAN or a CHILD'S MAMA! A Single Mama who raises her child or children alone is JUST BEING A MAMA! Sure, she is AWESOME in her efforts to Feed, Educate, Nurture, Discipline and LOVE her Children but it's just a MOTHER BEING A MOTHER and going that extra mile. THE CHILD is STILL Missing everything that should have been imparted by their FATHER. So, you can go to all the basketball games, teach that kid to mow the lawn, clean a rain gutter, change a tire but you can not replace the intangibles that MEN/FATHER'S Provide any more than a Man can give a child the nutrients contained in Breast milk.

Sistah's I understand that a great many of you are doing the awesome job alone and you are hurt and angry and overwhelmed. It's a shame but it's true! Alot of Father's have abandoned and neglected their responsibilities but it does not excuse the NEGATION of the MAN/FATHER! You have to BE real about YOUR Pain in the situation that you are asking FATHER'S Where are you and WHY are you NOT taking care of your Seeds? Not trying to ask as if you BIRTHED that child alone.

Women when you try to BE THE FATHER you give up the POWER invested in you to be A WOMAN and THE MOTHER!

In short KNOW YOUR ROLES and Stay in your Lane! It avoids so much confusion when you do.

Jan. 1, 2009: Responding to reports of a fight on a late-night BART train, five transit police officers stop two trains at the Fruitvale station shortly after 2 a.m. As hundreds of passengers look on, Officer Johannes Mesherle draws his gun and shoots Oscar Grant III, of Hayward, in the back.

Jan. 3, 2009: A video that captured part of the shooting, recorded on a BART passenger's cellphone, is shown on television and posted online. Within days, the video racks up millions of views.

Jan. 7, 2009: Mehserle skips a meeting with internal BART investigators and quits his job. Later, several hundred people join a rally to protest the shooting, forcing BART to temporarily shut down service at the Fruitvale station. Several protesters become violent. In the brief riot that ensues, dozens of windows are smashed and cars are set on fire. More than 100 protesters are arrested.

Jan. 12, 2009: BART concludes its investigation into the shooting and submits its findings to Alameda County District Attorney Tom Orloff. The report does not comment on whether Mehserle should be charged with a crime.

Jan. 13, 2009: Orloff issues a warrant that charges Mehserle with murder. Mehserle turns himself in to authorities in Nevada, where he has been staying in the wake of several death threats.

Jan. 14, 2009: More than 1,000 protesters gather in downtown Oakland for an hours-long rally, with speakers using the words "peace" or "peaceful." When the program ends, about 50 people begin smashing windows in the City Center, and a small number are arrested for possessing Molotov cocktails.

Jan. 15, 2009: Mehserle pleads not guilty to the murder charge.

Jan. 30, 2009: A judge sets Mehserle's bail at $3 million. Police quell a protest outside the hearing. Michael Rains, Mehserle's attorney, says the now-former officer meant to use his Taser rather than his gun.

Feb. 6, 2009: Mehserle's family posts his bail, and he is freed.

Aug. 18, 2009: An independent investigation, paid for by BART, finds the officers responding to the call Jan. 1 botched their response, failing to work as a team and lapsing in tactical communication and leadership.

Oct. 16, 2009: A judge grants Mehserle's request for a change of venue, agreeing that he cannot receive a fair trial in Alameda County.

Nov. 19, 2009: The same judge orders the trial moved to Los Angeles County.

Jan. 27, 2010: BART settles with the mother of Grant's daughter, agreeing to pay $1.5 million.

June 1, 2010: Mehserle's trial begins in Los Angeles.

June 8, 2010: Jury selection ends, with no black jurors chosen. BART police, having had Taser use suspended while they were retrained and policy was re-examined, resume using the stun guns.

June 24, 2010: Mehserle speaks as a witness in his own defense, the first public words he has spoken since the shooting. He takes the stand again the next day and cries as he describes the moment he says he realized he had shot Grant.

July 1, 2010: The attorneys on both sides make their closing arguments, and the jury begins deliberations.

July 8, 2010: The Los Angeles jury reaches an involuntary manslaughter verdict against Mehserle. Riots break out in Oakland, during which several stores downtown are looted.

July 9, 2010: Rains releases a handwritten letter that Mehserle composed while he waited for the jury's verdict. In the letter, Mehserle apologizes for killing Grant, but Grant's family is not impressed.

Nov. 5, 2010: Mehserle receives a two-year prison sentence from a Los Angeles County judge who refuses to send the former officer to prison. Instead, Mehserle is sent to Los Angeles County Men's Jail and told he would be released in about 11 months, with credits for time served. Protests break out in Oakland again, but this time police control the crowd.

Dec. 3, 2010: Mehserle seeks bail while he appeals his involuntary manslaughter conviction. A Los Angeles County judge denies request.

June 13, 2011: Mehserle released at 12:01 a.m. from L.A. County Men's Central Jail.

A preacher named William Miller once preached that Jesus would return in 1844. Thousands of people listened and believed his prophecy and interpretation of scripture. In 1844 when Jesus did not return there was a great disappointment. From this though the Seventh Day Adventists, Seventh Day Bapists, The Jehovah's Witnesses, and the World Wide Church of God owe their beginnings.

Last week another Christian Pastor prophesied the end of the world! Well, we still here! I'm not mocking him or others. Really, I'm not! We live in a time when people are searching and expecting some great upheaval, or transition time. People are afraid and they look for answers! This preacher was using so called Biblical codes, math, that he thought revealed Jesus's Return. Some people are using the Mayan Calender and believe in 2012 and you can bet your sweet bottom that someone is already using some other method, or book in an attempt to figure out when the World will end or when Jesus will return or Both. But take note!

History was made this week when the City of Long Beach named a park in honor of the Late San Francisco City Supervisor Harvey Milk, the First openly Gay elected official to serve. Long Beach First District Councilman Robert Garcia championed the cause.

I have some mixed feelings about naming the park after Harvey. Why Mista Jaycee? Well, Harvey Milk didn't have any real connection to Long Beach. Mr. Garcia explained that several parks are named after folks who have no connection to Long Beach, Dr. King, Rosa Parks, Cesar Chavez and he's right.

I feel it's to a city's detriment though to ignore it's own History and it's citizens. When I walk down 3rd street in Long Beach, I remember Richard Kyle Books, The Barber College, The Blue Cafe, Jack's Liquor and the Original Shades of Afrika. When I walk Pine Ave, I remember the Ben and Jerrys, the Long Beach Mall, Education 2000, The Tape and Record Room, Jillians, Mums and The AMC Theatre. Most of these businesses are gone but what about the people who served the city? The characters?

The next park or public square should be named in honor of someone local. There are plenty of folks who have yet to be honored or worse honored and thier stories are not told with the reverence they deserve. Who is Ernest Mcbride? (Photographer, Activist and LB NAACP President) Who is Theodora Brewitt? (Long Beach Librarian who stood up against censorship in the 1950's red scare)

Why do they matter to Long Beach? Who is Akinsawa Kambon (Former Black Panther, Runs Pan Afrikan Art School) and why does he matter to Long Beach? Who is Bob Jones? I knew Bob Jones as a nice old gentleman who visited the Shades of Afrika. He was a photographer and owned a studio over on Broadway. He was in his eighties but faithfully went to the gym for his workout daily. After he passed away I found out that during the 50's Bob was one of Long Beach's leading Gay Activists.

He led protests, he campaigned against harrassment based on Sexual orientation, he had been persecuted. The Man I'd knew was not a grizzled, bitter social war vet, he was a kind, personable fellow. He did alot for Long Beach and lived in the section where the Harvey Milk Park will be built. He would smile but he deserved alot more and so do alot of other residents of all stripes who have graced the city. He was local, LGBT and lived and worked in the area of the park. He should have been considered.

We should remember that when thinking about Long Beach or the City where you live.

Yeah, it was. Funny though huh? Ok, CNN Don Lemon "came out "to the Public at Large. To some this is a big freakin deal but not to me. See, I don't care about Mr. Lemon's sexual orientation in the least. I care if Mr. Lemon reports truthful and accurate news period! I watch him regularly and I believe that he does.

Don Lemon true show of courage is that he faced his own self and he was honest about it. He probably had to tell his Mama and Grandma at some point and it could not have been easy. He has probably endured many a church sermon about how "Homosexuality is a sin!, yada yada, hell fire, yada.

That's not an easy life. Your life, your definition of love is disputed, your attractions judged and worse politicized.

With all the folks at every end of the spectrum writing about this I will offer this one piece of advice to Mr. Lemon. Stand up and have courage! This is your chance to talk about some real ish to some real people about something that we all have to deal with on a daily basis. And don't let those political pricks including those SO Called Gay Activists co-op you or your celebrity. They would "Out" you in a second even though you may have chosen to keep your personal life "Private". Well, now the cats out of the bag!

Use it for positive change and I hope that it brings you peace. Hell, now you can help someone else who may be in dispair and suffering about who they are and how they feel. This is a good thing. I watched a clip of Jon Stewart the "Daily Show" talking with Pundit Bill O'Rielly about his opposition to Rapper/Poet Activist Common's invite to the White House for all things performing poetry. Seems that Mr. O'Reilly is an avid listener (Sarcasm) of Hip Hop Music, having gone after Ludacris some years back for having been a drug dealer, got Pepsi to pull their commercials with him as a feature. This time, he points out Common's "Song for Assata." Bill O'Reilly asserts that Common is celebrating a "Cop Killer" and that the White House should not invite him based on that. Funny how he didn't point out that Common also speaks out against Abortion on his "One day it will all make Sense" album.

Hey Right Wing, there are alot of People, Black Folks in particular who BELIEVE that Assata is INNOCENT of the crime. She is left handed and the EVIDENCE points out that the Officer killed was shot by a right handed person. The EVIDENCE points out that Assatas left arm was injured at the time of the shooting. Buts let's not let a little thing like EVIDENCE or INNOCENCE get in the way of the killing of an AGENT Of THE STATE!

Obama proves Citizenship!

When I went to get my first Summer job I had to state that I was a United States Citizen and show my birth certification, Social Security card, and my California ID. I was 13 and had to prove I was a citizen. When I was 18 I had to go to the post office and register with Selective Service or risk jail. Every document I've ever signed of great importance has had me prove that I am a citizen.

I think that you and Barack H. Obama II, the President of the United States of America has gone through this same process numerous times before. That said, The BIRTHER Movement is nothing more than another RACIST AMERICAN RUSE! Maybe Obama just should have cracked a beer open and belched aloud while, scratching his butt on television like SNOOKIE! She's American, sort of . She is a SHE right?

Body of Missing Teen Found!

Phylissa Barnes, the missing teen and honor student was found floating in a river near Baltimore, Maryland where she had been staying with relatives before she went missing. I am saddened and angry that the young Sister did not receive the type of news coverage that had been afforded so many other missing White teens and children in recent years.

I am more dismayed that the story ends this way. A Young teen dead. Why? Why do the stories of our children always end up dead, and police with little or no clues? Rest in Peace Young Sista.

I always thought that the oil reserve was crude that we took off the open market and stored in case of an emergency. How many readers thought that too?

Oh come on! It ain't just me.

TRUTH! The oil reserve is just land that the Government has staked out that potentially could have vast amounts of oil based on the amount of certain trace chemicals associated with oil. It is on what's called the Oil shale.

REALITY: America does not have a reserve. There is no oil savings bank. The Politicians have engaged in hyperbole.

Gas goes up to $4.50 and the President opens the reserve to take the price down to $3.00 because he allowed this reserved oil to enter the market. That's not what would happen in the event America fell on hard times. What would happen is that the land would be drilled in the sections where they believed oil should be then refined and sold but that could take years.

What if the oil was not easy to get to? What is the oil was not the grade of crude we wanted? What is there is not enough?

REAL TALK: Fossil fuels are a LIMITED RESOURCE! We will eventually run out. We need to changed to Biodiesil and other fuel supplies. That's real!

Giant Fan Beaten by Thugs at a Dodger Game

A Working Man with a Wife and two kids was beaten by thugs in the Dodger Stadium parking lot following the Dodgers opening day victory over their most celebrated rival the San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers and Giants rivalry is one of the greatest going all the way back to the start of baseball when both clubs were based in New York. I am a life long Dodger fan and I enjoy calling the San Francisco Giant,s the MOST HATED San Francisco Giants. This is fan fun. I don't actually hate the City of San Francisco or either of the Bay Area Clubs. This is all in fun.

Sports and sports rivalries are about fun. F-U-N! What happened to that Working Man is disgusting and there is no justification for it. I don't think it had anything to do with the rivalry at all. Just two A-Holes who looked for any reason to kick somebodies ass.

I hope that the police catch you! Now as for the Dodgers, the reward is $100,000 dollars but it should be 500,000. It happened at DODGER Stadium and these types of incident can not be permitted to occur ever!The Dodgers have always been a Classy organization and that should never change. I took my Family to a Dodger game. My Grandpa took me and my Brother to the games and I plan to take my Daughter, Nephews and Nieces to alot of them in the future. This can NOT happen again EVER! Let's face it the MOST HATED boston celtics traded Inside Banger Kendrick Perkins as part of the nefarious plot to keep the MOST BELOVED LOS ANGELES LAKERS from THREE PEATING as WORLD CHAMPIONS.

What??? Ok, Mista Jaycee, we believe that the boston celtics ARE EEEEEEVVVVVIL! But trading Kendrick Perkins, knowing full well they need as many BIG'S as possible as part of plot to keep the MOST BELOVED LA LAKERS FROM BEING CHAMPS AGAIN.....Explain!

The boston celtics have no desire to meet the LAKERS in the finals. The boston celtics do NOT fear Lebron 'The Phenom" James or the Miami Heat! The celtics though evil are a solid basketball team. The Heat is not a solid TEAM. The celtics, though up in age, can handle the EASTERN CONFERENCE.

The Most BELOVED LAKERS are Younger than the celtics, faster and can BEST the celtics in the finals. But unlike the MOST HATED boston celtics, the MOST BELOVED LAKERS, face a far more superior conference en route to the WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS and then to the BIG DANCE.

Matrise and Phylicia! Media's Neglect or F*ck the Single Black Female!

The Late Ms. Matrise Richardson went missing after being released from a LA County Sheriffs station at two in the morning. It made the news, but there was no daily follow ups, no investigative journalism, no probing reports questioning the department. Just a few blurbs here and there every other week, then every month.

First, her Dad, organized a Motor Cycle Ride to Vegas to raise funds for a proper investigation. This received Human Interest style coverage, but there were no interviews aired questioning Sheriff Lee Baca or the Lost Hills/Malibu Division Commander. There were no follow up interviews of the restaurant owners, waitresses, waiters, where Matrise had eaten before she was arrested. Then, one week before her body was found, the news conveniently reported a rumor that Matrise had been sighted in Vegas. The rumor of course was uncorroborated then her remains were found in a deserted area in Malibu. There were no interviews probing why the Sheriff had not allowed Matrise's remains to be recovered by an independent contractor to avoid the appearance of foul play or a cover up? There was no follow up when the FBI declined to investigate this case. Why?

The Late Ms. Natalie Holloway goes missing in Aruba! It made National news. Why? Was she the Daughter of a Diplomat? Was her Family friends to the President? National News and a TV movie. Why not Matrise?

And still she has not received the kind of coverage JC Duggard, Natalie Holloway or Austin Bice received in just days.

Now Phylicia Barnes, a 16 year old A Student is missing in Baltimore, Maryland. She disappeared while walking home. National Coverage??? Some. Nightly??? Heck no! You know it's bad when the Baltimore Police Department states that they have not had enough media coverage to help them in this case. That's bad!

So what is the criteria for a missing person's case receiving National Media coverage? We know that Chandra Levy received coverage because of the brutality of the case but also because a Congressman was possibly involved. But how are other cases and events decided???

Race can not be ruled out. Matrise was a Master's degree candidate, Pretty, Young, Lesbian, and Black who was arrested by the Sheriff. Her car was impounded and she was released at two in the morning, on foot into a wooded area with no purse or cell phone. This does not get national coverage. You've got possible dirty or neglect cops, you've got sex, you got a possible hate crime and cover up. That's must see TV Baby!

In another case you got a 16 Year old Pretty, A Student who's gone missing while walking home after calling her Father. This is every parents nightmare! That doesn't get national coverage??? That doesn't dominate the local papers??? Then what does?

I never met Dewayne Mcduffie face to face or had a conversation with him but I knew him. He Friended me on my Facebook . (Smile) I knew him though, I knew him intimately through his art and through his writing. I am an avid comic book collector specializing in Afrikan American Comics and Characters.

In the 90's I was a huge fan of Marvel Comics The Silver Surfer, The Fantastic Four, Every X Men title in existence with the exception of Excalibur and Spider Man. Every Title except Spiderman 2099. Yeah, I'm a Proud Comic book nerd.

Marvel Comics had a few Black Characters like the Fabulous Falcon,Power Man Luke Cage , Night Thrasher, Rage, Black Panther and Female Characters like Nocturne ( She was so lame). Marvel didn't use Black Characters that much and when they did sometimes they were kinda lame. Power Man AKA Luke Cage or Cage is almost 40 years old and there have been three different attempts to give him his own comic. His dialogue at times seemed to be stolen from a Superfly movie, his costume was comically lame. Big Black Dude with a loud canary yellow shirt, collar open, chest hair exposed, Big Afro, with a metal band around it and a chain instead of a belt. This lasted til the 90's! There were writers who gave good efforts but Damn! Milestone Comics spoofed Cage with a ccharacter called Buck Wild!

The Falcoln was as smart as Captain America and would lead the Avengers but again, Damn! The Black Panther was a Genius Afrikan Royal who used his Brains, Brawn, Afrikan Spirituality and Charisma to kick major booty. White Writers didn't know how to do justice to the characters and so they languished.

DC Comics were not much better. Every Black Character was a Black something or somebody! Black Lightning anyone! John Henry Irons (Steel). The Cyborg (Teen Titans) was half machine, with half a huge Afro. It was in this long term enviorment that Denny Cowen and Dewayne Mcduffie created THE MILESTONE BIBLE which was an artbook of Multi Racial characters. DC Comics loved it and wanted to buy the characters, but Dwayne and his partners had other ideas. Milestone Comics was born in a partnership with DC Comics. That's right they started their own company! They hired artists and writers of color that are now working in the industry. Whoo Whoo!

I grabbed a bagged copy of Static # 1, went home and read it and immediately went and grabbed ICON, BLOOD SYNDICATE, and HARDWARE and every other issue they had on the shelves. The art was so-so but the writing was awesome. I'm a story guy and these guys knew how to tell a good story. The characters were revolutionary and history making but not just for revolutions and history sake.
Marvel Comics had Northstar, a Gay Male Superhero. Other than announcing it Marvel did little with Northstar beyond announcing him. Milestone had Fade. (Blood Syndicate) Fade, was a Puerto Rican Gangster who was like a ghost. He could become more solid in the proximity of his Sister. Fade was closeted but Fade's conflict was truly a part of the story. Fade's Sister "Flashback" could go back in time three seconds. She saved the Blood Syndicates behind numerous times this way. She could fly but is fighting a crack addiction. Static's first time was shown in Static # 25. Some Comic stores threatened not to carry the issue because it dealt with a teen aged character having sex in a natural way. The comic did not seek to present the issue in a negative light.

ICON was an alien who took the form of an Afrikan American Man. He'd lived through slavery, was hung, had fought in wars and now lived as Augustus the Fourth, a high powered conservative lawyer. Rocket, an inner city youth, told Augustus that it was time he got involved with his people's plight; To BE an ICON! Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas read Milestone Comics and wrote the creators to say he favored ICON. ICON was a pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, up and coming country club Nigga. Rocket was a conscious youth. A Single Mom who fought alongside him and challenged him to get involved. She challenged him not just BERATED him.

Milestone Media Comics did not last a long time but the characters were incorporated in the DC Universe and can be seen there today. DC got a whole lot of color.

Dewayne, you will be missed Brother. I thank you for great reading that I will cherish.

A Long Awaited Honor has been Recieved!

In 1980, Odie Hawkins, wrote a teleplay for a new CBS Television Series "Palmerstown USA". The show was the results of a new formed partnership between Alex Haley, Author extraordinaire, of the groundbreaking "Roots" Novel turned television miniseries and Producer powerhouse Norman Lear (All in the Family, Good Times, The Jefferson's) I could go on but I won't!

The series aired seven episodes before it was cancelled. Well, this past weekend, Mr. Odie Hawkins, along with other esteemed guests were invited to the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, CA for a private screening of the episode he had written "Old Sister" all those years ago.

We were escorted into the John H. Mitchell Theatre. Mr. Martin Gostanian, of the Paley Center, explained upon his exit, the lights would lower and the program would start. As the lights went low and faded to black, the music and opening credits rolled "Old Sister" Teleplay by Odie Hawkins other credits included famed Actor/Director Bill Duke of Carwash and Predator in the starring role. The episode also featured Actor Glen Turman of Cooley High. Oh, we must not forgot a very young Michael J. Fox (Back To the Future, Family Ties) What a cast of people that would all go on to do awesome work!

This was high quality television. The ensemble was top of the line and the script was nuanced. Like CBS other show "The Waltons" it was set during the Depression but this show explored the life's of two Families. One White, the other Black. The Families knew and cared for one another but lived with the backdrop of Jim Crow. The show was not ruled by cliches and did not brush over Jim Crow.

WD Hall to his Wife: "Why did you say that we would be at "Aunt Jenny's" ceremony at the "Colored" Church?

Mrs. Hall: "Why wouldn't we be? In WW 1 when you were all shot up and hurt she nursed you back to health and "Aunt Jenny" nursed half the town back to health. She wants her Family there. I've known her my whole life."

W.D Hall: You think that I don't know that? I agree and am happy that she is being honored as an "Old Sister" she certainly deserves it but “We ain't Family and "She" ain't your Aunt"! (Ant) It seems hypocritical is all. They invite us to their church but do you see anyone from "Our" Church invite any of them?

The episode revolved around the the Afrikan American Matriarch "Auntie Jenny" being honored by her Church as an "Old Sister". This honor was bestowed on one every 25 years to a Woman who had great character and charity. This was something that Alex Haley recalled from his childhood in the South.

After the show ended and the lights came up, Mr. Martin Gostanian from the Paley Center presented Odie with a vintage copy of a TV Guide magazine, from the week when the "Old Sister" episode of Palmerstown USA aired. Odie would go to win an NAACP Image Award for writing the episode.

The show was nuanced and well thought out. Check out the above dialogue. This was courageous even after "Roots" and certainly for 1980 era Television. I doubt the show would even be made in today's hyper politically correct date and age.

I was immensely proud of Odie and the work that he allowed to come through him. "Palmerstown USA" may not have succeeded as a Television program but it was and is still great Television.

FBI Declines to Take the Matrise Richardson Case!

I am angry and disappointed. Mitrese Richardson, a beautiful Afrikan American young Woman with a college degree, was arrested, taken into custody by Law Enforcement. She was released at two in the morning on foot, with no cellular phone, purse or id into a dark wooded area.

She’s dead. She was missing for almost a year. Her skeletal remains found in a ravine. Rumors and photos have surfaced on the internet suggesting that Matrise was a lesbian, that she was suffering from Bi-Polar Depression, or that she simply had run away. As early as one week before her remains were found, there was a rumor that she'd been sited in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Could Matrise’s disappearance and death be a hate crime perpetuated by members of Law Enforcement? We certainly can not rule it out. It has not been properly investigated to this writer’s knowledge. The investigation is not neutral and unbiased. The Malibu/Los Hills division of the LA County Sheriff is an unofficial suspect. They were the last one’s to see her alive.

They have yet to give a satisfactory explination why Ms. Richardson was released at two in the morning on foot with no id or cellular phone. Was she bailed out? Was she given a citation? Why was she not allowed to use a sheriff's phone? When she was arrested the was a suspicion that Ms. Richardson may have been suffering a mental breakdown. It that is true then why was she not seen by a Doctor? Why was she not kept overnight for observation? Why release a Young Woman into the night on foot into a wooded area?

Would you want your local Law Enforcement Agency to release your Daughter into the a wooded area on foot without an ID, Phone or purse? Where was Ms. Richardson gonna catch a bus? Where was she gonna call anyone to come and pick her up? What place would have been safer than a Law Enforcement office?

Why isn't there any video of Ms. Richardson being brought inside the station or leaving it? Where is Ms. Richardson's car, phone, purse and Identification?

Why hasn't the Mainstream media hounded Law Enforcement officials with this? While some Mainstream media has picked up the story and continue to cover it, t
here has no been no intense investigative journalism as of yet. Thankfully some media outlets such as KJLH 102.3 FM in Los Angeles, CA as well as Jasmine Cannuck have kept the fire burning for Ms. Richardson.

The Sherriff’s department removed her remains and cleaned the crime scene. Is it proper for a possible suspect in a case to investigate that case? It seems more than reasonable to question any conclusions made in this case because the crime scene has been compromised and the evidence tainted.

Sheriff Lee Baca held a News conference announcing that there is no evidence of foul play. That’s not necessarily a lie.

There may be no evidence of foul play especially if members of the sheriffs department removed it all and are obstructing the truth.

That’s just an observation. No one has been accused or charged with any wrongdoing. Sheriff Lee Baca should be held to account for making such a closed statement when a branch of his department is under a cloud of suspicion.

No evidence of foul play? What evidence do you have that would indicate that it was not? Did Matrise die of exposure, at the hands of an animal or from a fall? Was there anyway to conclude that she had not been assaulted physically or sexually at any time before her release? Sorry Sheriff Baca but we can not hold your department’s findings in the highest confidence. We can’t and we should not!

The Federal Bureau of Investigations has declined to become involved with the case.

Why?

If there was ever a case that demanded that they become involved this is it! The Local law enforcement agency is a suspect in the case. The FBI should be asking some real questions of all the parties involved. They should be interviewing every officer and person in the building that evening but most of all they should exhume her remains and conduct an autopsy. Recently, eight more bones were found that are believed to belong to Matrise.

The FBI should do this in the interest of justice. Please email your local representatives and enlist their help in seeing that Justice is done in this case. Demand that Matrise’s body be exhumed! Demand an independent autopsy and demand that everyone involved in this case be investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations including shutting down the Los Hills/Malibu Branch and investigating all it's officers and records completely.

I am a serious Lynerd Skinnerd Fan! Love "Sweet Home Alabama, Tuesdays gone, That smell, Working for MCA, and Simple Man. If I never heard "Free Bird" again, It would be too soon. That said, I always wanted to kick they old asses for using the Stars and Bars as their banner.

Southern Heritage, my beautiful Black booty! It's a Confederate flag! It's symbolism is rooted in the murder, rape and subjugation of an entire people. Is that a heritage that you want to honor and pass on?

I enjoy a good bowl of grits on occasion, I'm no stranger to some good BBQ. My Mama makes Black Eyed Peas for New Years day! Those are Southern Traditions. I give honor to them.

No ,My European American Brothers and Sisters from the Southern United States. The Stars and Bars is not your heritage. It's part of our collective story but not our collective heritage. Rape, Murder, Slavery, Torture, False imprisonment are not values.

Why am I writing about this? Presidential Candidate John McCain got caught up on if his stance of the Stars and Bars years back in the South Carolina primary. He cowered to those supporters and sold his integrity. He later stated.

Let's face it, the Superbowl half time show has been lame for quite a few years. Superbowl 45 was Noooooooo exception. If lame, recycled, cookie cutter, pop songs with Disneyesque overtones is your thing, then cool! That show was for you. (I feel sorry ,for ya.)
But, A Choice of Weapons is about positivity so i'll just pass the word that Michael Bolton and Kenny G are a couple doing shows in your town.

A Couple, Mista Jaycee? Now that was a thinly veiled barb at Michael and Kenny. Shame on you! Implying that they are NOT Manly Men. That somehow they a Soft, Safe, Saccrine, lame, wimpy Guys!

You are right! Thinly veiled is not right. Kenny G and Michael Bolton ARE LAME! The Black Peas were Lame that night.

Why?

Pop Success, that's why! We've heard those songs and seen that show a hundred times! It's safe! It's non threatening, it's the same! It's pop!

American Football is a violent game! It's pushing, shoving, spitting, kicking, biting, cursing and bad behavior wrapped up in a colorful jersey! It's Hot Dogs with Mustard, Chilli, Onions, lots of onions, pickles, Kraut, and cheese product. Not Cheese, made from cows milk, but cheese product. That may have some kinda milk but most likely NOT! It's whatever's yellow they shoot out the can. It's ice cold sodas and BEER! Kegs, cans and bottles of BEER! Note to the NFL! Football is a Violent game and we like it like that!

Did I mention BEER? Did I mention Pushing, shoving, biting, kicking, cursing and ROWDY?

I meant to! Superbowl Sunday is one of the High Unholy Days that brings the whole community together. It's the one time Men and their Childrens, get to jump on the furniture, let foul language fly freely, and eat Fatty, Processed Foods together. The show and the music should reflect that ROWDY spirit! You've failed NFL Marketing! YOU'VE Failed!

Janet Jackson's Medium sized, 45 year old, luscious, chocolaty, boob had nothing to do with how lame the Superbowl half time shows have become. They were lame long before we caught a glimpse of that brown sugar perfection.

Case in Point AFC Championship Game. Ja Effin Rule was the act that year. Lame pop songs. "The Luniz" had a local hit in OAKLAND that year called "Oakland Raiders'. Oakland was playing that year in the AFC Championship! And you book an East Coast Act singing a pop song! KMEL was playing "Oakland Raiders" all week leading up to it.

The NFC Championship: Rap Legend LL COOL J not performing any of his Rah Rah hits, that made him a famous as a Rapper to reckoned with but a pop song called "Doin it doin it doin it well." Lame!

The NFL Superbowl Half Time Show should not BE Disney Friendly! Think SPIKE! Think F/X! THINK HBO's The WIRE!

This led up to Justin (NSYNC) Timber lake and Janet (Penny from Good Times) Jackson in the Championship where we witnessed greatness! Janet (Penny from Good Times) Jackson's LUSCIOUS, CHOCOLATE, BROWN SUGAR BOOB!

One moment for station identification. ( Oh yeah!)

The Rolling Stones, old familiar songs, Sir Paul McCartney, old familar songs, The Who, old..... Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen old..... Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, did I say Old?

How bout the NFL do something original. How bout the Grambling State Tigers Marching Band versus the Alcorn State Marching Band? The Marching Bands at Historically Black Colleges and Universities are WORLD RENOWNED! It would be a great show! It would be fresh and new and more importantly it would give exposure to a body that truly needs it!

You introduced not only other Black People to our Afrikan Creole Patois but the entire world. Your writing was cutting edge, witty and current. It was hip and intellectual. Thank you ! Thank You for being and having the courage to be one of our voices.

I once read that Langston Hughes read a published poem of a "Colored" Poet from Harlem, New York. (His Adopted Home) He contacted the young poet.

"I hear you Colored and From Harlem"

Langston made sure that he reached out to his people, not just content to rest on his own laurels, but he reached out and he reached back.

The House and Senate may have sat next to one another in the chamber but this is not reality. In reality, Progressives are in a battle with ultra conservatives. No need to panic though because while an angry majority sent the Tea Party Republicans to congress, even more Angry Americans, mostly White Folks elected Barack Obama President of the United States of America.

That number trumps their number and Mr. Obama should remember that and remind the American Media and the Publics at large that this is so. It is my agenda, my ideas, my cabinets ideas that the congress needs to work with, not their own agendas.

This was Dr. King's Birthday Celebration March. A march dedicated in honor or a slained Baptist Minister who dedicated his life and a large part of his ministry to the Principle of Non Violence. And you ignore that?

The media has great power to influence the public and that power has to be used responsibly. You can't just FART in an Elevator and not expect it to stink and choke out anyone in the vicinity. Sarah Palin gives a great soundbite! Oh yeah, she's the Effin Karrine Stephens of Soundbites, the Superhead, the Kat Stacks of Effin Soundbites but while it Tit-Til-Lating and Provacative, and gets RATINGS it also starts alot of shit that a responsible MEDIA is supposed to referee. I believe that somewhere there's a corporate flack who loves that fact that some nut finally killed somebody! I think that for some it would have been better for ratings if it had been an actual attack on the President.

So President Obama, Take your own safety into your own hands starting by warning elected officials that they need to watch their mouths. Secondly by arresting them when they don't! Some have gotten too bold, it's not just criticism of you or your policies which is an American Right but it's borderline threats on your person and on the Office of the President. Arrest they asses! The time for civility is over and has been for a long time. I said that President Bill Clinton should have had arrested Senator Jesse Helms when he implied that the "President's Life might be in danger in North Carolina because of his policies." Senator Jesse Helms received a polite slap on the wrist. That was one Southern Old White Dude, threatening a YOUNGER White Southern Dude who was the POTUS!

Time for you Mr. President to stop pretending that some in congress do not have a problem with you being a BLACK Dude, Bi-Racial or not, with the highest office in the land. Arrest them! Sure, it has never happened in Recent American History but there has NEVER been a BLACK MAN IN THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT'S OFFICE BEFORE! Time you set a standard and redefine the rules.

As far as the media is concerned. You may feel that you did not contribute to the climate that may have inspired anyone to kill but I believe that you did. You can change how you do business TODAY so that you are not the inspiration for the NEXT Group of Nuts!

Jaycee: Hi, before we talk about your novel, tell me a little a little about your life as a writer.

Jaycee: At what age did you begin writing?

Archie: I believe I was a story teller before I became a writer. I learned the value of my imagination early on.When I learned to spell I began to put pen to paper and
I never stopped.

Jaycee: What was your first published work?

Archie: When I was 17 I had a poem published in a local newspaper. It was entitled Who Am I. Now that I think about it , it was corny but I was so proud of myself. lol

Jaycee: When times are slow, how do you keep yourself encouraged? A lot of aspiring writers quit because of the rejection.

Archie: I never attempted to submit my work to a publisher. I felt strongly enough about my work to self publish. I don't have time for rejection. I invested in myself.If I succeed i reap the benefits, if i fail I simply try again. You can't allow other peoples opinions of you to detour your dreams.

Jaycee: What story turned you on? I mean, what story did you read that made you say I can do this? I want to do this?

Archie: "Tar Baby" by Iceberg Slim. His characters reminded of the people I had been around my entire life. I didn't know that my reality was worth reading until I discovered his books.

Jaycee: Now, let’s talk about your most current work, “Evolution of a Nympho” You have my attention with the title. (Laughter) Why did you choose to birth this story or did it choose you?

Archie: lol...Honestly this book had a voice of its own. I felt it even though I didn't live it. I knew a lot of girls that did. I knew that it was worth sharing when I cried and laughed and cried again. (Laughter) I read it again last night and I couldn't believe some of the things that I had written. I love this book like a child.

Jaycee: I have spoken with several published authors, such as Darnella Ford and Odie Hawkins about the so called “Ghettoization” of African American Authors. I’m referring to the lumping of all Black Authors into one section or even more specifically, into one genre. I wouldn’t say that "Evolution of a Nympho" is a younger version of Zane’s the Heat Seekers but maybe an uninformed book seller or publisher might. Have you had to deal with that?

Archie: No I haven't, but I would be honored to be placed in a category with any of these authors. The title The Evolution Of a Nympho has placed me in the erotica box on its own. This book is so much more than that. It has it's sexual moments but I would prefer to be placed in the urban/lit genre

Jaycee: Was it fun writing this novel? What’s been the overall reaction to the novel?

Archie: Writing this novel was intense! It was pleasurable, exciting, emotional,fulfilling, you name it, i felt it. I have received some really good feedback and great reviews. The poll is still out.Ask me this question again next year maybe I'll have a better answer for you.

Jaycee: What advice would you give to up and coming writers?

Archie: I would give them the same advice that my father gave me. If you wake up every morning wanting to write, if you go to bed every night with a sonnet on your mind. You are a writer. No piece of paper, no degree, nobody can change that. Just keep writing...

Jaycee: What have you discovered about the publishing industry or about just being an author that maybe you had not considered before you got into the business?

Archie: It's hard work...It's very time consuming and at times it's a struggle. For me the business sometimes takes away from the creativity. It is very challenging, but at the same time it's rewarding. It's more than a job it becomes a away of life

Jaycee: Who are your inspirations and your writing mentors?

Archie: I don't want to leave anyone out...(Laughter) Wahida Clark is a great motivator for me. I love her style. K'wan has been a mentor. I think Mary Morrison is a great business woman, so is Zane. My friends and my family motivate me. Life...Inspires me. I am truly blessed!

Jaycee: What author just irks the heck out you as an artist/ (Loaded question) (Laughter)

I Love Women's Basketball!

I love Women's Basketball! My Daughter played in high school and in college. I went to every home game and sat through hours and hours of hard, grueling practices and tournaments, so I was deeply offended while listening to the Petros and Money radio show. P and Money were on vacation but the guest hosts were talking about John Wooden's UCLA Bruin win streak being eclipsed by Gene Aurelia's UCONN Women's Huskies team win of 90.

Who's cares about Women's Basketball he asked?

I do! I care deeply. It's a very enjoyable brand of basketball. The WNBA is boring to me. I went to a Los Angeles Sparks game and it was as exciting as watching hair grow. I think that's the NBA's doing. The College game is a great product. Fast Break basketball, great defense, with passionate players. But back to my point.

Women's college basketball does not receive the coverage they should. My Daughter's team for instance, never enjoyed what the Men's team took for granted. The school band sat in the stands and played during the Men's game, the Cheer Team, cheered for the Men's team. The concession stand was open for the Men and The Women's team was encouraged to support the Men's team. They didn't always cheer for the Women's game.

This is a fundamental point of unfairness. The Men should BE encouraged by the Athletic department to support the Women's teams. Reality check! Men's sports bring alot of dough to the colleges but Women's bring money as well as prestige to the college. Does Duke, Stanford, Rutgers or Tennessee turn down any publicity garnered from a successful Women's program? Heck No!

South Eastern Louisiana University loves to promote Robin Roberts as an alumnus. A Basketball playing Alumnus who graduated and went on to ESPN and then to Good Morning America!

So, I would encourage you to write the athletic programs of your local colleges and universities in support of the Women's programs. Plus follow up by wearing a college jersey and writing a check! WRITE A CHECK FOR THE PROGRAM!

Teena Marie Dies at 54! Funk Legend Lady T Passes!

Teena Marie has passed away at press time at her home in Santa Monica. The Funk Superstar, born Mary Marie Brockert in Santa Monica was 54. She may have been European American (White) but she belonged to us. Legend has it that Motown Records Executives did not even want to hear that she was a White. They released her record without a photo. No matter! She had the goods!

She loved Motown Records but successfully sued the label after the label failed to pay royalties and certain standard fees creating the Brockert (Teena Marie Law). Several artists throughout the years have used the Brockert Law in order to get out of bad contacts.

The most important thing that she be remembered though is that she could write, play, produce and most of all Sing! Man, could she ever sing.

Rest in Peace Teena until Jesus comes!

Merry Christmas!

Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, I went over to my Great Grandma's house and the rest of the Family would meet there for dinner. Often times, it was the only time we all got together at once in one place. Now, that Grandma is gone I realize with crystal clarity that she was the glue that kept us together. Since she passed my Family has scattered to the wind, each Family member, focusing on their own lives. Although we send each other cards and may even call one another occasionally we have never captured what we took for granted going to Grandma's house every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Over the years I've even noticed that as my friends and acquaintances have become religiously enlightened they've left the traditional Christmas traditions of the having a tree, or state that Yeshua (Jesus) was not born on December 25 (Nimrod's Birthday) or maybe they shun the commercialism of the Holiday and opt for Kwannza instead. All of that is fine but what's truly lost is the sense of Family and community. The sense of connection.

Family, Community and Connectedness is what we have to keep to thrive and survive as a people.

Make sure that you tell those who matter that you love them and make the effort to spend time with them.

The Lame Duck Senate struck down the discriminatory "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy! Whoo Whoo! A sensible, grown up policy for well, grown ups! Too bad they waited til they had nothing to lose by doing the right damn thing.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church Pioneer Ellen G. White penned "The greatest want of all the world is Men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall."

We need congress and the senate to do the right thing NOW! Instead what we have is partisan policies. We need to do what is right for the whole country and sometimes that means doing things that we don't agree with. You feel homosexuality is wrong! Fine, but you do not have the right to marginalize, and persecute homosexuals and keep them from what is theirs by right. You have the right to your opinion and that's all.

Now get to work on Unemployment! Get to work on all these foreclosures!

Congrats to the Lame D*ck, I mean Duck Senate on screwing on a pair and doing something. Too bad you left President Obama holding the bag.

Over the years while working in the Shades of Afrika I have been privileged to stock and read several books on fraternal organizations and secret societies and while I am happy that books like Behold a Pale Horse and The Unseen Hand have a large and growing audience, I also see tomes like Duncan's Ritual and Lost Keys to Freemasonry fly off the shelves too.

The problem is most folks who read these books have no idea what they are actually reading. They have none of the prerequisites in order to understand the subject matter. Reading Duncan's Ritual to a non mason would be like taking inorganic chemistry when one hasn't taken Biology 101 or better yet has only taken Bio 101. OK, save your money.

There ain't nothing in there that you gonna find out!

Just a little background to straighten out a couple of things flowing thorough the Hip-Hop Community. Lost Keys of Freemasonry was written by Manly P. Hall when he wasn't a Mason. He wrote it when he was like 19 years old and didn't have any first hand knowledge. It was written in the sensationalized dime store pocketbook style popular at the time which had helped books like Secret Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, which sells to this day in some corners and is complete crap! become great sellers! It was tripe! And it fueled the anti-masonic sentiment of the times. He hypocritically became a Mason in his later life thirty years later but never denounced the book to my knowledge. But he sure took the money!

Albert Pike was a Freemason and his Morals and Dogma is the text most people cite when denouncing Masonry and fraternal organizations but again it is as his book said It was written for the Southern Scottish Rite. He was a confederate, a southerner, so it's no surprise that he said " I took my Oath before White Men, and while I see no problem with Negroes being masons if I had to choose masonry or have it brought down to their (negroes) level by mixing with the main I would leave Masonry"

The overall Masonic Fraternity promotes Universal Brotherhood. Albert Pike at least had some integrity when he stated he didn't speak for Masonry, he spoke for himself and wrote specifically for the Southern Rite. He was still a weenie though! So this should be kept in mind when discussions are held concerning fraternal organizations.

I read a book called " Gleanings of a Mystic" by Max Heidel, a Rosicrucian from Austria, who came to California in the 1920's. I disregard most of his ideas as he held in this writers opinion some questionable racial and cultural views, it fact it is my opinion that he held several racist and anti semitic views but his chapters on Initiation what it is and what it isn't are worth the coin I spent.

Mr. Heidel taught that there is external initiation and internal initiation. External is the ceremony, the pomp, the oaths, the rituals, the membership cards and regalia and don't forget the super secret decoder ring and hat! Just kidding! Maybe! This is easy to see.

And secondly, the internal initiation, which is inward and not easy to see. Here is an example. Take a bite out of an apple, now chew it slowly, slower, slower. Now tell me how it tastes, it's smell, is it soft or hard? Tell me!

Ok, you described it but do I know what the apple tastes like? No, I won't know what that apple tastes like even if you gave me a piece. It's gonna taste different for me but still in order to know any apple's taste you gotta try it for yourself! Only you would know when you understood the internal, Maybe....

Now, I am not a member of a lodge, but I know several members of several different lodges, Masons, AMORC, Elks and Kiwanis and what they share is essentially the same feeling on initiation. You gotta try it for yourself! Why am I writing on this? Because I saw this short video on You Tube, where this dude was trying to point out Kanye West and Jay-Z as Masons. They were supposedly giving a masonic handshake and the videographer just knew he hit on some esoteric gem! Fact! Anyone can do a Masonic handshake and may have learned it somewhere but it don't mean they Masons!

As I said in past posts you gotta check these people out! You can check to see if a person is a member and if thier in good standing in most organizations including Masonry. In fact if you look on their resumes you may see it.

It's become real popular in hip-hop circles and music to speak on metaphysics, Al-Islam and Esoteric subjects such as masonry but most of the time no one is actually speaking on anything of real substance. The rhymes are just peppered with code words to make it seem as if they know something but again, you gotta ask somebody who knows. If you want to know about wood ya go to a carpenter, dig!

The So-called Dr. Dwight Malachi York and others like him have made a living for years taking advantage of people's lack of knowledge and selling them counterfit versions. The So called Dr. York has been a Moor, a Muslim, ( He differentiated) a Mason, a Shriner, opened a Grand Lodge in Georgia, that had armed guards at the doors. ( That would not happen in a proper masonic lodge, Guns at the doors!) He claimed some Extraterrestrial Theta type thing recently that sounds like he was trying to make a rival Scientology type group and keep making money selling books and incenses all over the Hip-Hop and Afrikan American community on all these subjects. I would suggest you go to the Phylaxis Society's page on Bogus Masonry and check the interview E. Malik Bey, a moor, a Muslim and a Prince Hall mason did with the So Called Dr. York. It's a dooosey!

Facts, about Masonry! It is not secret it is private! Any man, 18 years of age, and of good moral character can apply for membership. Their rituals and ceremonies are not for public knowledge just to members. It's the same for any organization. The Deacon board at your church don't discuss everything in front of the congregation, and major corporations keep their shareholders meeting private including membership unless it is illegal according to its by-laws. That's not proper! Some things will only be discussed in private.

Look into a Blue lodge and ask questions and find out about procedure. You must first join a blue lodge and master the first three degrees. After one is a master mason (3rd degree) You needn't go any further but if you still wish to learn more then you can go up the York and Scottish Rite houses. You may do both, just one side or none beyond the blue lodge. Don't get hustled you must go to the blue lodge anyone bypassing that ain't proper. Dig!

It is up to you to ask questions for yourself instead of this crazy speculation. Hip-Hop is full of charlatans just waiting to sell a book, or take your money some other kind of way. The web is full of sites dedicated to exposing the secrets of this or that. But what secrets? You mean things that you could find out simply by getting a book from the local chain store? That ain't secret and even if you memorize it you don't understand it. As soon as someone who belongs asks enough of the right questions, the ruse is over.

Remember there are alot of shirks out there, talking like they know something about something but when you shine the light on them, find out they talking out they other end.

Now just think about these things for a second. You saw National Treasure, Raiders of the Lost Ark or read about America's Founding Fathers or Adam Wieshaupt and believe in this Grand Conspiracy theory. Well maybe there is but most people including those who may have memberships in organizations are not involved and in fact wouldn't know it if it kiss them on the lips. You mean to tell me that your drunk azz uncle who drives a truck for the city and still owes you five dollars is a part of some super secret plot? Come on, ya know better than that!

Ya Grandma, eighty years old, who still insists that you be in Church every weekend, is plotting a world overthrow with all the other old ladies at the Eastern Star meetings? Come on! Ya know better!

But if you do see something that bothers you spiritually or outright offends your religious spider sense then choose God and get the heck out! Don't fool with it and that goes for anything and everything that you find like that. Dig!

Can any one of us say that they have not been touched or affected by the HIV virus and the AIDS disease? Maybe, you lost a relative or friend. Maybe, someone you care for is suffering with the HIV infection.

Von, can best be described as Dr. Angela Davis, channeling Eldridge Cleaver but filtered sometimes through Terry Mcmillian and Alice Walker. She re-touched on a post that she'd written earlier but that stirred up alot of controversy.

The heaviest straw was her quote that "So called Good Black Men could not be trusted either, after all where were they when Black Men were beating Sistahs into submission? " Good Black Men! Oscar Grant's Killer Former BART Police Officer Johannes Mehserle recieved the MINIMUM sentence for INVOLUTARY MANSLAUGHTER of two years. To say that A Choice of Weapons believes this to be another travesty of Justice is an understatement.

Mehserle stated that he did not mean to pull his handweapon only that he meant to pull his taser gun instead.

1. Oscar Grant Jr. was lying face down on a train platform begging "Please don't tase me!"

2. Oscar Grant Jr. was unarmed

3. Former Officer Mehserle only meant to tase an unarmed Man who was lying face down on a platform but instead mistakenly fired a 40. caliber hand weapon into his back killing him.

4. Countless Witnesses taped the incident on thier camera phones!

As expected the Democrats have lost control of the House of Representatives. Some so called media outlets have painted the Republican house victories as a Referendum on President Barack Obama. This could not be further from the truth.

When President Obama was elected congress's approval rating was at 20%. What has congress done since then to change it? Nothing! Outgoing President George W. Bush's approval rating was at a historical presidential low and congress's was right along with him.

America's Financial system failed! The Chicken's came home to roost! So you have a voting public that has lost jobs, lost fortunes, lost houses and they are angry about it. Even more so they are angry about the solutions to the problems as well.

In come the Tea baggers led by Sarah Palin. Gonna set this country back on it's footing right? Gonna show "Washington" that regular American Folks aren't gonna take this lying down! So, it gave the Republican party a chance to gain a few seats the Dems were gonna lose anyway! The People already hated the folks in Congress! Hated! The people want ACTION!

Now, Action can be defined two ways. 1. They want shit fixed now! 2. They want Congress and the President to look like they working on getting shit fixed now! Number 1 ain't gonna happen no time soon no matter who's in office but number 2 should have happened and Congress didn't do that.

A Federal Judge ended the United States Mililtary's 17 year "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy prohibiting those enlisted from asking an ensigns sexual preference and an from one's announcing one's sexual preference.

The policy was a piece of garbage anyway! It was built from an unproven, irrational hetrosexual fear! The fear that somehow an OPENLY GAY Enlisted person would undermine troop morale.

I work for a living and some of the folks that I work with, go to church with, shop with and live next to are guess what.....????? There has never been any study to verify that an openly gay soldier or group of soldiers undermined morale in any quantifiable way. Sure, Hetrosexual Men have always had a FEAR of OPENLY Gay Soldiers looking at their winkies or maybe a game of slap and tickle or some such nonsense.

Years ago, I was a partner at a small record label handling promotions and distribution. It was then that I met Sound of Los Angeles Records Chief Dick Griffey (He had a really raspy voice) and his second in command Virgil Roberts. While the meeting did not lead to a successful partnership it left a lasting impression on me. For one, Mr. Roberts stopped me in the middle of my proposal and asked how long I had left til I got my college degree. I answered, a year and a half at least. He stopped me several times advising me to GET THE DEGREE!
Dick Griffey was the Real Deal! A Real Record Industry Player! A Real Independent, Self Made Mogul.

At the time of our meeting, he was taking the SOLAR Record Label and converting it into the J.Hines Record Distribution Company. Berry Gordy of Motown Records always struggled in the long term because he didn't control the manufacturing or distribution of his labels records. It was litchpin that eventually proved to be part of Motown's undoing.

Game peeped Game!

Dick Griffey, a Night Club Booking Agent along with fellow Pioneer Don Cornelius started Soul Train Records in 1976. Like Soul Train it was independent but Don Cornelius and Dick did not stay in the Record Label business together. They made a cool split and Dick started SOLAR Records. (THE SOUND OF LOS ANGELES) Dick had a serious eye for talent! He took two Soul Train dancers Jeffrey Daniels ( Pop Lock Dance Pioneer and He showed Micheal Jackson the Back Slide or Moonwalk) and Jody Watley and created Shalamar! This group had hits with two lead singers before settling down and gelling with Howard Hewitt. Just think what if Don had hated on Dick saying You can't use my dancers? We would have missed out on somthing great! But these Brothers were cool!

He took a young Pre-Baby Face guitarist named Kenny Edmonds out of a Funk Band called THE DEELE and made him a Solo Artist! He gave Leon Sylvers III his shot! In return, Leon wrote and produced hits for SOLAR all through the 1980's. Dick Griffey was so bad that he gave Two Young Prince Proteges a chance to produce records. You may know them as Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I think they went on to work with some chick name of JANET Jackson!

Now back to my meeting with Dick Griffey. I met with him for only about 15 minutes with the other partners from the label but I can recall reading an article in the now defunct New Times about how Dick Griffey and Virgil Roberts were being sued by Eric Easy E Wright and brought up on RICO Charges for allegedly helping a up and coming Mogul by the name of Marion "SUGE" Knight get Dr. Dre, the DOC, Michelle and a few others released from their contracts with Ruthless Records and providing some the start up capital for Future Shock Records Better known as Death Row Records. Of course, Suge ruled the nineties with an Iron Fist, oops, I mean HITS!
Of course, it was never proven that Dick Griffey and Virgil Roberts were part of any conspiracy to coerce Eric Wright into releasing Dr. Dre and neither Messrs. Griffey or Roberts were never convicted of Racketeering. (that would make them gangsters) Of course some or all of it may be urban legend. Needless to say I went into my meeting though with both eyes open and a firm grip on the door handle. Just in case (Wink)

Well, our label wanted a press and distribution deal. In other words, we just wanted the manufacturing side of J. Hines (Solar) and for them to place our records in the stores alongside their other products. One thing that any aspiring recording artist should know is that Product Placement is super important!
Dick Griffey had 30 Plus years to learn and build relationships with the record stores, radio and promoters. NO Matter How HOT Your Artist's RECORD IS IT MEANS NOTHING IF YOU CAN'T GET IT PLAYED, PROMOTED and PLACED IN A GOOD SPOT IN THE RIGHT STORES TO BE SOLD! Dick Griffey understood that better than most Record Execs ever will and he did something about it.

Recently, the Mogul succumbed to complications following heart surgery. He leaves behind his Wife, Children, Grand Children and numerous Brothers and Sisters that loved, admired and respected him.

NBC's Undercovers starring Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw

I watched Undercovers last night. Two Black leads on a major network in an action/drama. Historic! We haven't seen a Black lead performing in this kind of role since Dr. Bill Cosby was on I Spy in the 1960's!
Yeah, it's been that long!

Now, I get that the show can be compared to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." They are similar. Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw play a married couple who are "Retired" CIA field agents. They own a struggling restaurant and are both called back to active duty to complete one mission.

Now, the show is produced by JJ Abrams, cool! The show has car chases, stuff blowing up, exotic locations, some light comedy relief and most importantly two very good actors who also happen to the very definition of Eye Candy!

Problem! For Boris Kodjoe, that's the problem with Undercovers! Style over substance! Years ago, he was casted alongside his real life wife "Nicole Parker" in 2005's UPN produced "The Second Time Around." That show suffered cause it had NO PLOT, NO SCRIPT! But damn, those Black People were Pretty! Nicole Ari Parker, Melissa Desousas, Danielle Nicolet! All EYE CANDY! No substance, no plot, weak, wooden characters! This show suffers from the same thing.

If a Black Couple were as purdie as these two and owned a restaurant they would be a very PUBLIC couple. They would be featured in UPTOWN magazine, on the cover of VIBE, they'd be at parties with Russell Simmons. Chef G. Garvin and The Neely's would do interviews with them and they'd schmooze! A moderately successful Black couple like that could be considered a POWER Couple in the Black community.

They'd be on the cover and sooner or later some Baddie from the past would eliminate them! For any story to work it has to be plausible. Both Black Folks are wearing coveralls in an Madrid Bank working on the Security Systems? In Madrid? The idea that Black folks are CIA operatives is not unbelievable just ask any Afrikan American political group.

By the way, group of possibly White American Writers, Black Folks who work for THE FBI, CIA and Various Police departments or belong to the Republican party, for example, are not looked at favorably by a large majority of Black Folks!

Our (Afrikan American) views of Patriotism for America is different than our Euro-American Brothers and Sisters. But all that aside, You want ME to believe that Gugu Raw is a CONTRACT KILLER/Covert operative that specializes in misinformation and overthrowing countries but there is NO Darkness in her soul? What kind of tests did you give her to determine that SHE would be a suitable operative? This should be included in the writing!

Some of y'all suspect a few people of being informants NOW! (Laughter) No, if this show fails and I believe it has. It is because of shoddy writing. You have to tell a good story! You must have well developed characters, they have to be interesting. These aren't! The IDEA is interesting! No, I think that certain screeners are desperate to appear diverse and intoxicated on the IDEA of having two Black leads in a series that look as appealing as these two.

A good story, a well developed plot and interesting three dimensional characters. This show only has 1 dimensional characters that are extremely pretty, a sub par plot and a sub par story.
